Buying scenes and hours

Nothing in BobbleHub takes a payment. Buying happens on the website; BobbleHub only ever downloads what your account already says is yours. That's why a pack you just bought needs one refresh in the app rather than a restart, and why nobody has to type a card number into a program that's mid-show.

Buying a scene#

  1. Open the Store on the website.
  2. Pick a pack. Its own page has the pictures, the description and the price.
  3. Press Buy. You'll be taken to our payment page to enter your card.
  4. When it completes you come back to the Store, and the pack now reads as owned.

Then, in BobbleHub, open the Store tab and press Download on it. That part is covered on Scenes.

Packs you own don't expire. A scene bought outright stays yours whether or not you have a subscription later. A scene you're playing through a subscription is a different thing — see Plans and prices.

Buying hours#

Same route, and the blocks sit in the Store beside the packs. The prices and how the hours behave are on Plans and prices.

Before you can buy anything#

Your email has to be verified. Checkout stops and tells you so rather than sending you to a payment page that would fail. Nothing is charged and nothing is started. See Your account.

Promo codes#

There's a box for a code on the plans page, before you check out.

The code is checked while you're still on our page. A code that doesn't apply to what you're buying says so there, rather than being rejected after you've entered a card.

What happens after you pay#

Your purchase is recorded against your account as soon as the payment clears. In practice that's immediate, but it is not instantaneous — the payment is confirmed to us rather than by us.

If a pack still doesn't show as owned a minute later, reload the page before assuming anything went wrong.

Can I make and sell my own scene pack?#

Scene packs are built in Unity and published to the Store.

🚩 REVIEW — needs a decision before publishing. Whether pack authoring is open to customers, and on what terms, has not been settled. Options are: not open (say so plainly), open on request (say who to ask), or open with a published process (link it). Until one is chosen this page should carry the first, because a maybe reads as a yes.

Troubleshooting#

The pack still says "Buy" after I paid#

Reload the Store page. If it still says Buy after that, check your email for a receipt — if there's no receipt, the payment didn't complete and nothing was taken.

I was charged twice#

Send us the receipts. See Getting help.

I bought a pack and BobbleHub can't see it#

Two different things, in this order:

  1. The Store tab in BobbleHub is empty entirely — that's the hub key. See Linking BobbleHub to your account.
  2. Other packs are listed but not this one — the app is holding an older list. Restart BobbleHub.

It says "That plan isn't available yet"#

That product exists but isn't on sale. It's not something you did, and it's not worth retrying — tell us if you were expecting to be able to buy it.

The Store shows a pack that can't be bought#

Packs that haven't shipped yet appear so you can see what's coming. They have no price and no button.
